In a solemn moment of reflection and gratitude, Alhaji Semiyu Animashawun has marked the 60th posthumous birthday of his late wife, Mrs Rasheedat Sholape Animashawun.
Sholape was born on May 6, 1965, and passed away on July 9, 2009. She was widely known for her kind heart, humility, and commitment to serving others.
To honour her memory, the Sholape Animashawun Foundation (SAF) was established in 2010 with a strong focus on education, healthcare, and community development. Since its inception, the foundation has awarded over 50 scholarships to students in Nigeria and Canada. It has also supported hospitals, places of worship, and families in need.
In a message released on Monday, the Canada-based Nigerian businessman expressed his heartfelt appreciation to everyone who has supported the foundation over the years.
“I thank our children—Amina, Mohammed, and Abdullah—for their strength and continued commitment to their mother’s legacy. I also appreciate my wife, Kafayat Kofoworola Animashawun, for her patience, love, and support as we continue to honour the memory of a truly remarkable woman,” he said.
He also announced that special activities to celebrate his late wife’s 60th posthumous birthday will be unveiled in the coming days.
